GRIID – Your Gateway to Rural Dementia Initiatives
In 2011 service providers, researchers and practitioners from around the world met at the 26th Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference in Toronto, Canada to share their knowledge and experience about rural issues in dementia care. Representatives from countries including United Kingdom, Canada, France, Sweden, Australia and India developed a vision to more effectively share initiatives that would improve the lives of rural people with dementia across the globe. In 2012 Alzheimer’s Disease International facilitated a survey throughout its worldwide member associations that endorsed the benefits of connecting rural based services through a web based platform. The Gateway for Rural International Initiatives in Dementia (GRIID) emerged and is now seeking your contribution.
